Usually when you start seeking advice and tips for weight loss you will mostly find exercise and nutrition information. Which does hold a lot of weight (no pun intended) in your success. I am here to tell you that that’s not all you need to take into account when you are trying to lose weight! Here are my 3 secret weight loss tips that will help you succeed in your goals.

1. Love your workout
You know you gotta be active in order to reach your weight loss goals, but who says it had to be boring? Choose an activity that you look forward to doing. This way you aren’t forcing yourself to workout and making yourself feel like it’s torture. If you don’t like your workout you are less likely to do it. You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing either, just keep trying new things until you find something you love!

2. Your diet shouldn’t feel like punishment
Just as your workout, your diet should also be something you enjoy. If you started the latest diet craze but you feel as if you are punishing yourself, then it’s not the right one for you. There are so many different diets out there, try and try again until you find the one that is works for you. Everyone has different lifestyles and different bodies, therefore one diet that may be great for someone may not be for someone else. Don’t listen to what people are telling you is right for you, listen to what your body is telling you. For example I was doing some research on the Paleo diet and I thought it would help me so much (which I still do) BUT as I started looking at everything I couldn’t eat, I started stressing out, because there are so many restrictions. I decided about after a week of trying to change my diet that this was not the right one for me. With that said, maybe you are following a Paleo diet and you are thinking in your head, “what is this chick talking about?! Paleo is awesome!” I am happy for you because you found the right diet for you and your lifestyle. What I want you to take away from this tip is that each and everyone of us is different, therefore there is no cookie cutter diet for everyone, find what works for you!

3. Happiness/Mindset
This ties in with the last two tips. It actually hit me about a week ago. I realized that I wasn’t losing weight as I have done before, this was making me extremely frustrated. I kept trying to tweak my diet and workout, then it finally hit me. When I thought about how I lost weight before I was the happiest I’ve ever been, and the pounds just kept coming off. I am no longer as happy as I was, I’m actually going through a rough time right now, mentally. I only made it worse when I saw the scale wasn’t moving I would blame myself for not working hard enough or for eating too much or eating the wrong things, I was always blaming myself. When I’d look in the mirror I was hateful towards to the person staring back at me. I realized this has got to change, in order to reach my goals I must learn to love myself, be kinder to myself and find inner happiness. When you have all these negative thoughts and feelings inside you, your body will not let go of any extra weight, in order to be lighter you must feel lighter.
